Polar Air Command: Arkelon Class Carrier

Arkelon Class Carriers

The Arkelon lifeforms, a marvel of advanced engineering, made their debut in 2188 to alleviate the mental and emotional fatigue observed in Delphic Strikers (see below) sent on long-range missions. These surface floaters, engineered from genetic material harvested from bio-fossilized Archelon, feature a shell and exoskeleton made of tharspin and defenses revolving around air combat. Arks serve as versatile platforms for containing, deploying, and recovering Delphics and Femarctic combat units.

Designed by Wram Constructs, the Arkelon is a versatile floater. It is capable of containing, deploying, and recovering Delphic Striker Clutches. Its flight deck can host up to two divisional flyers and an inorganic Solidification Glider, while its flooded berths can house submersible life forms, like Sword Fighters (typically found in the Toxis-class submersibles). The Arkelon can also carry deployed battalions during a conflict.

Delphic Strikers

Delphic Strikers are cyber-physeters, or cloned polar Livytans with physical and artificial enhancements. They serve as combat fighters capable of shallow sea and low aerial maneuvering. What sets them apart is their unique symbiotic connection with their pilots. Femarctic pilots operate the Delphic by lying within the cavity beneath its cyberized spermaceti organ. Pilots connect physically to their Delphics via a makodak unit, an organic caul that enables total liquid ventilation. Internal bioware fools the Delphic into thinking she is pregnant, and this connection leads her to enact self-imposed protocols to protect their pilots.

Delphics are extremely clutch-oriented (there are five to a clutch) and require being surrounded by their sisters to remain emotionally healthy. They choose their Femarctic pilots, rejecting those they dislike.
