After Fifth-Generation Pitana Kul had ascended to the position of Primary, newly forming helovx governments reached out to Ramaxia. This era was called the Age of Diplomacy and saw the resurgence of diplomatic relations between helovx-nations, and the establishment of contact with Ramaxia that would advance some nations, and disable others.
[1] Fight for Africa
During the Dark Years, the native peoples of central and western Africa struggled to control their unstable, inundated lands from European and Balkan refugees, airlifted to the Sahara by the Turks (Saharan Exodus) after the Eros Impact.
When Northern Africa and the Sahara began getting regular rain intervals, the bolide polluted Nile River swelled to cover the collapsing Great Rift, while erupting volcanoes throughout the Congo melted mountain glaciers. Meltwaters flooded jungle floors and began the formation of the Great Congo Bay.
During these dangerous times, millions of central Africans migrated west, overrunning western coastal cities. Incoming Nigerians slaughtered millions (only the Gabonese survived by fleeing across the Atlantic) until making peace with the largest faction of refugees from Congo-Kinshasa.
When the fighting ceased, the Nigerian-Congolese made plans to acquire the fresh water of the Sahara Basin. Convoys arrived in the north around 2032 and found hundreds of thousands of settlers from Europe, the Balkans, and Turkey; these interlopers lived in organized villages throughout Northern Africa.
Despite an abundance of fresh water and farmable land, racism and cultural division divided the arriving natives from the northern settlers. From 2035-onward, a war waged for the Sahara.
The Euro-Turkish war machine forced the Nigerian-Congolese south, eradicating the last of their armies in 2042, and seized control of the civilian encampments on the beaches of the Saharan Seaway.
Unable to move further south and unwilling to commit genocide against the civilians, the Euro-Turkish victors divided the land into three theocratic factions; Islam remained in the north, while the Eastern Orthodox Catholics settled within the conquered territories to aid surviving natives. The western European factions had come together under the Catholic-Protestant League and ventured south purge the habitable lands of any remaining Nigerian-Congolese.
The Kenyan Island Incident
On June 20, 2100, the first Toxic-Class lifeform, Kasko, swam into the Nile Seaway and beached itself on a northeastern shore in Kenya Island. Here, the Second Generation Polar Navy began flushing the beast’s ballast cavities. This anatomical-filtration purged the beast of its used water reserves. A small population of native Nigerian-Congolese lived nearby, driven from Paracen Isle (what remained of the north-central Africa highlands) during the Sahara fight. Curious women and children approached the bizaki lifeform handlers, and friendly by nature explained that ingesting saltwater kept the vessel buoyant and lubricated. When expelled, the seawater came out as freshwater. When bizaki began flooding the dunes with flushed water, refugees gathered and began digging trenches to collect it.
Things turned deadly when the Catholic-Protestant League’s military forces arrived in tread vehicles and opened fire on the refugees.
Fourteen Marixi emerged and began firing on the vehicles with their palm blasters, wiping out twenty-two of the vehicles within ten minutes. More vehicles arrived that day, accompanied by two helicopters, four tanks, and twelve hundred armed men and women. All forty-five members of the Nautical Pod assigned to the Kasko emerged and fired upon the advancing helovx. Using only their palm-blasters, they decimated the fighting force, effectively wiping out the Catholic-Protestant League.
The power vacuum created by their destruction prompted the two remaining factions on Paracen Island to unite and form the Eurislam Orthodoxy. Taking control of Kenya Island, they brought the wandering Nigerian-Congolese refugees into their communities.
Limited Diplomacy with Ramaxia
On January 1, 2124, five men and two women from the Eurislam Orthodoxy arrived at Port Antarctica. The port authority barred the male diplomats from making landfall, allowing Maria Kav and Britanny al-Hasat to enter as diplomats.
After indoctrination on Femarctic culture, the women returned to their ship. Deeply religious, they strongly objected to what they saw as homosexuality among the single-gender femmar. Though diplomatic relations stalled at that time, the Eurislam Orthodoxy would host Fifth Gen Committee Member Laxum Wram in 2128.
