Sexual Maturity

At age ten (age eight for Hizaki and Marixi), donations arrive at their caste-specific habitats and here they learn about their sexual anatomy, the specifics of production, and how to maintain proper hygiene. Ages twelve to thirteen, when curiosity about sexual matters peak, young femmar learn of body image, sexual pleasure, socio-sexual etiquette, and group communication.

Casthood Sexual Education

Subaki and Zaxiri are sexually mature by age twelve. At this age, a series of informal gatherings take place, called Subaxir-Socials. These parties occur once a week so that Zaxir and Subak can engage one another socially (and romantically), without adults present. Subaxir-Socials end at age fourteen when these castes begin a period of arranged sexual socialization with Hizaki and Bizaki.

Hizaki and Bizaki are said to reach sexual maturity at age fourteen (as are Marixi). Fourteen is the age a femmar is considered physically capable of engaging in sexual acts, allowing for attendance at their first Zaxir Social in Toxis. Organized by Zaxiri House, clutches invite Hizaki from Mynu and Bizaki from Pikalit. At the same time, Citizen Socials are held by the Subaki Citizenry Center and here Bizaki and Hizaki attend with Subaki in a less sexualized setting (though sexual activity does often occur, as there are no adults present during the events). By age fifteen, when every femmar in caste-training will have had group intercourse (except for Marixi), castehood sexual-socials come to an end.

Post-Casthood Zaxiri and Subaki

At age sixteen, Hizaki, Bizaki, Zaxiri, and Subaki are free to mingle with one another socially and sexually. It is also a time when some young citizens attend schooling beyond their caste-training by enrolling to study for, or intern in, their chosen vocation.

A Zaxiri cannot reside or work in a bluzsh until she is sixteen and no Hizaki can acquire membership in a citbluz until the age of sixteen. In the era of the Fifth and Sixth Gens, multi-generational citbluz were common due to elder Zaxiri having little concern for the age difference. Zaxiri proliferation within the Ninth Gen did little to alter such attitudes. When the Tenth Gen matured, however, citbluz began to specialize in age-specific clientele, with rules barring elders. These rules eventually expanded after the maturation of the Eleventh, to prohibit patrons too young. Despite this trend, many citbluz remain multi-generational.

Garden Clubs cater only to Subaki, as this caste tends to prefer sexual and emotional connections with one another until they near their twentieth year. In the era of the Sixth Gen, enterprising owners created a social area outside their establishment, to enable the Ninth Gen Subak minority romantic socialization with Bizaki. These Square Gardens began separating themselves from the Garden Clubs and operating as open-air drinking and dining establishments, independent from the exclusionary Clubs. Square Gardens remain the central location of Subaki presexual socialization, as Subaki will often share their lovers with other Subaki.

Marixi Sequestration

At fourteen, Marixi reach the age of Brood-Transition. Those with high-functioning ilitux are cycled out to the Guardia Program Barracks and Training Center*. The remaining majority become Brooders. They are given access to instructional films, colloquially called Icers, featuring adult Zaxiri, in a variety of sexual encounters with adult Marixi. These films are not pornographic in nature, but serve to display and promote healthy sexual activity. Gardbats in Gardul Battalions receive the same programs, and literature, but at the age of sixteen are allowed to partake in instructional groups at a Generational Bluzsh.

Brooders in Fleet do not have contact with other castes until the period before their Final Trial (though those with classes outside Orta, take advantage of the freedom, and encounter other castes in Mynu, or Pikalit). The day of their eighteenth year, they are given one night to venture to Toxis, before being called to Orta for the mass-hibernation predating their Final Trial. Throughout Ramaxia, this night, called the Orta-Attack, attracts all the castes. Citizens convene on Toxis, either curious or aroused, at the idea of being with a young Marixi. The young Brooders are affectionately called Fresh-Bruises by working Zaxiri and are allowed free drinks, food, and sex, throughout Toxis, for only this night. After their Final-Trial, no matter what their position in Orta, Marixi can move freely throughout the citizenry; Marixi are prone to courtship-disorders, so they are advised strongly by their Orta superiors to always seek release at the citbluz.
