Subaki Victimization

Subaki give off the same pheromones as Zaxiri, and because of this, they are exposed to unwanted sexual interest from other castes (mainly Hizaki and Marixi). Unlike Zaxiri, the Subaki physiological response to sexual contact is involuntary; while they have no aversion to sexual activity, it is not in their DNA to subconsciously seek it out.

Subaki participate in recreational sex with other Subaki but are known to pursue other castes for casual encounters (mostly Bizak and Zaxir citizens), often settling with Bizaki for more intimate relationships that provide stability. Victimization of Subaki occurs when they face unwanted advances, or sexual acts take place against their will. 88% of reported cases of sexual assault involve Subak victims, chosen due to the belief that Subaki, like Zaxiri, desire sex from every citizen they encounter.

Sexual aggression, objectification, and the victim blaming that follow reported incidents of sexual abuse against Subaki is examined in a Mynu dissertation by former mental health counselor, Tavo Ex. In her treatise on the abusive culture that surrounds her caste Ex found that the number of Zaxir sexually victimized is just as high, but Zaxiri do not report incidents of forced sex and do not experience trauma, following forced encounters. 72% of all reported cases are violent in nature, with 96% of violent cases involving Marixi. Of the remaining reported cases (non-violent sexual assaults) 98% have been perpetrated by Hizaki. (GC Advocacy Library – Investigatory Case Study)
